Our digital stethoscope is a groundbreaking solution that revolutionizes healthcare by capturing body sounds with advanced acoustics design and MEMS microphones, while eliminating external noise. It supports various telehealth solutions and is platform-agnostic. It currently includes FDA and CE approved AI algorithms that detect over 15 types of heart murmurs with up to 94% accuracy in 2 seconds, allowing doctors to conduct a general examination of a patient with nearly twice the accuracy and speed possible today with existing solutions. Our product is unique in its deployment model, offering a free lease on our hardware products and charging a minimal fee per patient system analysis, reducing capital costs for healthcare providers while ensuring broad, accurate, and affordable primary health screening for patients.
MUSE Diagnostics is a Bangalore based Medical Device company founded by a Veterinarian, a Sound Engineer & a Geneticist. In 2016, Arvind Badrinarayanan & Sumukh Mysore met at a recording studio in Bangalore, where Arvind, a veterinarian, was trying to extract digital heart sounds from a Vinyl LP from the 1960s that had recorded Dog heart sounds, to run through a diagnostic algorithm. Sumukh, a sound engineer and musician was at the studio where his knowledge of audio recording, formats, and transfer started a conversation among them. This led to a deep discussion on medical technology and how to create and improve devices by applying scientific principles within a digital framework. We reasoned that this would enable the creation of databases that could suggest diagnosis!
Our product and business model is inherently scalable and monetizable. We offer our home diagnostics customers the infrastructure to conduct remote body sound examinations for free and share revenue per examination (or per test). For our customers, these examinations are an extra revenue source, do not replace existing tests, generate leads with more confidence for blood biochemistry tests, and strengthen their capability to successfully detect and treat a wider range of conditions. Three customers (of which we have piloted with one - Apollo Homecare and signed an MoU with the other - Redcliffe Diagnostics) have expressed a minimum demand for conducting 135,000 of these sound tests per month, at a price point between INR 50 - 100 per test. This is equivalent to a revenue of INR 1.125 crore per month. Our hardware costs are recovered in under 2 weeks on average, leaving us with over 80% gross margins. We will also be expanding the tests to offer further algorithms that detect other conditions. We’ll look to scale up this model across other customers in the home diagnostics space which has a potential TAM for our sound diagnostic tests of $30 million in India. We’re also looking to deploy this directly to large healthcare businesses, such as hospitals to improve their patient screening process, and patient health outcomes and increase their top-line revenue.
